The main instrument introduced by the Water Framework Directive is the obligation to achieve environmental objectives from Art 4 ODV of the WFD, which also establish provision on how to introduce a ban or exemptions under different conditions.
On the second day of project’s work in Trebinje, the focus of discussion and knowledge transfer is on the interpretation and practical application of this article in the existing river basin management plans.
The capacity building program was developed based on the needs of project beneficiaries and aims to strengthen the capacity of water institutions responsible for river basin management planning to ensure their long-term sustainability and competence for the further implementation of the EU directives related to water.
